Hannah is a qualified Solution Focused Hypnotherapist (DSFH), Professional Coach-Mentor (DPCM) and NLP Practitioner, working with clients to deal with stress-related symptoms and achieve their preferred futures. She believes passionately in helping people succeed through the combined disciplines of psychotherapy and hypnotherapy. Hannah’s approachable style and experience in coach-mentoring enable her to build rapport with clients so they can feel at ease in a relaxed and safe environment, where they can have open, confidential conversations and learn how to focus on the positives. She welcomes adults, young people and children into her practice.

How do clients experience hypnosis?

People experience ‘trance’ many times a day and this is an entirely natural process, for example when you are absorbed while watching a film or reading a book so that you seem to lose awareness of time and space; or the feeling of daydreaming. The therapist assists the client to relax deeply and enter the ‘trance state’ in order to access the subconscious mind, enabling positive changes away from negative thought and behaviour patterns. Hypnosis is an immersive and enjoyable experience that is similar to a meditative state. Clients become calm, deeply relaxed in mind and body, aware of their surroundings, and remaining fully in control at all times.

What the sessions involve

The initial consultation is £10 and lasts around an hour. During this session Hannah will learn about the client’s personal circumstances and why they are seeking help, and how they would like to progress in a positive way. She will explain how the brain works and how this relates to their issues. Subsequent sessions are £60 each and last around 50–60 minutes. In the first part of each session Hannah will work with the client on specific solution-focused techniques, moving on to the hypnotherapy in the second part. Sessions are initially weekly for most issues. The number of sessions is usually between eight and twelve, based on the client’s needs. Phobia-specific therapy usually requires three or four sessions. Quitting smoking is a single two-hour session for £130, which includes the initial consultation.
